COMEX copper is attempting recovery from a one-week low following a steady decline since the start of the week. The counter is holding at $4.69 per pound, up almost half a percent on the day although gains in dollar overseas and choppy equities could limit further upside. The dollar index climbed above 100 on Thursday, extending gains to a third straight session after a federal court ruled that President Donald Trump overstepped his authority in imposing reciprocal tariffs. Meanwhile, the Dow declined 244.95 points or 0.6 percent to 42,098.70, the Nasdaq fell 98.23 points or 0.5 percent to 19,100.94 and the S&P 500 slid 32.99 points or 0.6 percent to 5,888.55.
